Do I have to enrol to participate in the wānanga?

Kao. These wānanga are optional.

What can I expect?

Inspirational discussions, expert insights, teachings of our ancestral practices and abundance of laughter. Lol. 

I'm a hapū member, can I bring my spouse?

​Aē. Join the wānanga to understand why. 

Can I bring my tamariki?
Aē! But you are responsible for them. Please ensure you bring some activities they can conduct quietly. 

If I haven't been before, but I am a descendant of the hapū, do I need to have a pōwhiri?

Kao. You are whānau, please join us in the wharekai :)

Who should I talk to first? 
Join us in the wharekai and say Kia ora! Everyone is whānau.

I have dietary requirements, should I bring my own kai?

Aē. There is plenty of space in the kautā to store your kai. It's best to label your kai too. 

What to bring

Here's a few key things to bring:

- Kai to share

- warm blanket

- sheets & pillows

- toiletries

- pen 

- paper / booklet

- recording device

- Warm clothing

- Covered shoes
