Hearken, oh learner, to the rythmic tapping of the serrated blade of Uetonga. Draw near and see the splendour of its workings. The deep imprints of the serrated blade into the skin, the bestirring of the awe and divinity of the gods witin the mortal being.
Come, take up the challenge laid before you, to learn the art of the tattooist's blade, of the tapping mallet, of the blue green dye, of the observance of sacred mindfulness and care; the art and discipline of tāmoko.
Expressions of interest for the Te Kōpua Marae Wānanga Uhi, are open to all descendants of Unu and Hinemārama.
Dates are yet to be announced. We will be in touch with all registered members once confirmed.
